Who belongs to
NARO-Texas?
NARO-Texas members include small royalty interest owners,
small independent producers, and royalty management professionals
of trusts, banks, churches, and universities, as well as legal and
taxation professionals and owners of non-producing mineral interests
and surface interests. Membership in the National Association of
Royalty Owners is required of all NARO-Texas members.
What
does NARO-Texas do?

Government Relations - The member-officers of NARO-Texas represent
NARO-Texas members with the legislative, executive and regulatory
branches of government in Austin. As an advocate of policies
set by its Board of Directors, NARO-Texas submits information
and provides education to those officials who play a key role
in the future of the oil & gas industry.

Advocacy - While advancing the priorities and policies of its members,
NARO-Texas seeks to maintain strong ties and open communication
with all of our elected officials. NARO-Texas is non-partisan,
does not endorse political candidates and is prohibited by law
from making political contributions.

Education - NARO-Texas sponsors specialized conventions and educational
seminars for mineral and royalty owners on leasing, legal rights,
management, taxation, and estate planning.

Industry Relations - NARO-Texas works with industry to advance
the priorities of royalty owners. NARO-Texas maintains a membership
in the Liaison Committee of Cooperating Oil & Gas Associations.

NARO-Texas benefits

NARO-Texas News - NARO-Texas publishes a newsletter on an
"as needed basis" at this time; however, a report
fom the President and articles on state issues may be found
in the monthly ROAR from NARO.

NARO-Texas Scholarship - For eight years, the annual NARO-Texas Convention
was held in conjunction with Angelo State University’s
Robert and Nona Carr Scholarship Foundation. NARO-Texas contributed
the proceeds of those conventions to the NARO-Texas Scholarship
Endowment at Angelo State University. The endowment is used
to fund scholarships to deserving ASU juniors and seniors who
are not receiving other scholarship funding.

Networking - Meeting other royalty owners whom have "walked in your
shoes" make joining NARO-Texas a good decision. NARO-Texas
officers and directors can help members in need of assistance
with oil & gas questions.

Convention - Each year, usually in early June, NARO-Texas holds its annual
convention, which includes speakers on issues of interest to
royalty, mineral and surface owners. Royalty owner relations
representatives of various oil & gas companies as well as
vendors of oil & gas production data, leasing services,
computer software and other products attend and exhibit their
wares. Social events highlight the three-day event.
What
is the NARO-Texas Legislative Fund?
Donations
to the NARO-Texas Legislative Fund enable the Association to more
effectively represent its members by contracting with a professional
lobbyist who then carries the royalty owner message to the legislature.
The fund was first established during the 1999 legislative session
to fund the fight against compulsory unitization and was again utilized
during the 2001 session when compulsory unitization was successfully
opposed and new royalty payment requirements were supported. Contributions may be mailed to:
